I am super excited to share this post with y’all, so if I get all fan-girly, just bear with me! 😉 My Official Blog Photographer™ (Hi Mom!) and I weren’t able to make it to NY Fashion Week this year due to a preplanned event. Believe me when I say that turning down the invitation to attend was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do! We’ve made up for it by viewing sooo many collections online, all in the name of research (😬) so I can stay abreast of all the upcoming trends.
I’m a small town girl, and outside of my handbags, most of my wardrobe comes from middle market retailers, with a little luxe sprinkled in on occasion. I can’t lie though: my heart does skip a beat for haute couture! I’ve been enjoying this years shows, but one brand in particular caught my eye. I am crazy in love with Moschino’s Spring/Summer 2018 Capsule Collection!!!
Before I share this super awesome Capsule Collection with yall, let me start by saying: I am such an 80’s baby! Just about all my shirts are off the shoulder, I still rock the poof ball on my roller skates, the Purple Rain Soundtrack is on constant rotation, and I would still gladly rock a side ponytail if I felt no one would sit me down “to have the talk!” Truthfully, Moschino was never really on my radar over the years, until, courtesy of Creative Director Jeremy Scott, the brand began to embrace the 80’s, using the Barbie logo, Super Mario, and pop-art color schemes!
I was so impressed by the whimsy and daring of the designs, and Moschino quickly moved up my favorite designers list! I realize the boldness of Moschino’s aesthetic won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I wanted to share the new Spring/Summer 2018 Capsule Collection because it combines everything I love about the 80’s: bold colors and textures, a mix of hard and soft, studs and leather, elaborate ballet costumes (cheesy 80’s dance movies!), and My Little Pony!!! Enjoy the photos!
Do y’all see why I’m so hyped??!!! My Little Pony was everything back in the day. Now all Moschino has to do is make a Jem & The Holograms inspired line, and I will faint from the shock! No, this collection isn’t the most “wearable”, but it’s a nice little dose of sparkle and childlike whimsy that is needed right about now! What do you think about the collection? Tell me below!
See ya next time!
