A Home Disaster
We might as well kick this article off with one of the biggest ‘oh no’ moments that you could face. When a home disaster strikes, it can feel like your whole world is coming crashing down. It could be anything from your home flooding, to having a break in. Dealing with it efficiently depends on the disaster that you’re having. If your home is flooding, the first thing you need to do is get a plumber, and get a dehumidifier. Remove all your items from the affected area and salvage what you can. The plumber will fix the leak, and the dehumidifier will draw out the moisture and hopefully stop any mould growing. If you have a break in, the police would be the first person you call. The quicker you call them, the more likely you are to find the people who did it. Hopefully you will have contents insurance, and getting on the phone to them to report your losses and attempt to get some form of compensation should be next. Then, you need to think about getting some extra security installed around the home. It could be your alarm being turned on, or security cameras installed to warn people off.
Appliances breaking is a nightmare, because all you can think about is the money it’s going to cost to have it repaired. But, one thing you can do to make it cheaper is contact a appliance repair company to come and fix the issue, rather than completely buying a new one. It could save you a lot of money, unless of course you wanted something new. If you did, find stores that sell show items. These are items that would have been on display in store, and because of this they are considerably cheaper!
You’ll definitely have one or two of these in your time. The biggest decorating fail usually comes from those of you who try to wallpaper your home, and do it completely wrong. It might look decent at first, but a few weeks down the line it could be peeling off. If you know you’re no good at DIY, then just get a decorator in. We know it might be a little bit more expensive, but it’ll definitely save you more time than if you were to do it yourself.
