Ferry over to the Statue of Liberty

Looking to see the giant statue that appears in many movies set in New York? You’ll want to take a ferry over to the Statue of Liberty to see the monument in the flesh. While in reality, it’s not as big as the movies make it out to be, it’s still quite a booming presence in the middle of the  ocean and looking out into the city.

The statue can be done in the morning or afternoon part of the day as not much can actually be done on the island that it sits on. There’s only the Statue of Liberty after all!

Visit the Empire State Building

For those that are wanting to get an almost birds-eye view of the city, then visiting the Empire State Building is a must. While there have been many places that have popped up since this building and have become competitors for the viewing point in NYC, nothing quite beats going to such an iconic building.

Make sure to book in advance so that you’ve got your tickets available for visiting whenever you fancy it. It’s worth seeing it both during the day and at night if you get a chance. For other locations, the best observation deck in NYC can be researched easily only.

Check out Times Square

Times Square is a must-visit for anyone who likes bright lights and a lot of activity. It’s one of the hot spots for tourists so expect this to be busy pretty much all hours of the day, even late at night.

It’s one not to miss though and is an iconic spot to get a few great snaps of your trip away.

Visit the 9/11 site and memorial museum

A very poignant and tragic place to visit is Ground Zero. Also known as the previous area where the twin buildings stood before the 9/11 attacks. There’s now a memorial museum there that helps to honor the victims and to continue telling the stories to those younger generations so that it’s never forgotten about.

Take tissues because it’s certainly an emotional visit!

Ride the hop-off hop-on buses

Finally, when it comes to seeing everything and anything, the hop-off, hop-on buses are a great way to enjoy the sights. It’s also great to make sure you see everything if you’re limited in time.

There are some incredible spots around New York but the city itself is truly wonderful. Make sure to make the most out of this wonderful place in the world.
