Hey y’all! I’ve had a lot of fashion and beauty inspiration this spring, but top on my list has to be Meghan Markle’s fresh faced wedding day makeup!
HRH Duchess of Sussex looked absolutely stunning and radiant on her wedding day! I’ve read about how she loves for her freckles to show, and I think it is a testament to her confidence and belief in her natural beauty that she did not feel the need to contour herself into oblivion and instead embraced a natural, soft makeup look!
I typically pare my makeup routine down in the summer, as I tend to sweat (sigh) and foundation and powders are NOT my friend. Usually I rely on a tinted or smoothing moisturizer, and just focus on my eyeshadow, liner, and mascara to complete the look! When I saw Meghan Markle’s fresh faced wedding day makeup, I immediately logged onto to my favorite makeup website, and began shopping for products to help me get the look! Because I’m cool like dat, I’m sharing 5 products below that will help you look fresh faced and radiant, and have everyone calling you “your highness!”
Get the look with Charlotte Tilbury
HRH’s eye makeup was absolutely stunning: Smokey, but still natural! I love the chocolate shade that blended into a creamy taupe! The Sophisticate Luxury Palette can you help you achieve the same look!
This fab palette features a quartet of chocolate, taupe, tan & cream shades that are perfect for creating Meghan’s chocolate-y smokey eye! Check out Charlotte Tilbury’s own tips:
1. For a soft daytime look, apply the Prime shade all over your eyelid, using a blender brush. Pop a little in the inner corners to open up your eyes.
2. Blend the Enhance shade from the outer corner across the crease of your eyelid. Finish off with a daytime mascara for a quick, easy application suitable for work or a day date.
3. To amp it up for evening, repeat the first steps, then blend the Smoke shade from the outer corner of the eye using a smudger brush. Apply across the upper and lower lash line for a more intense gaze.
4. For a night time look, apply the sophisticated Pop chocolate shade to the centre of your eyelid using your ring finger.
Meghan’s Eyeliner was a gorgeous shade of brown that was perfect for enhancing the shape of her eye, without being too sexy. You can get the same demure effect with The Classic eyeliner in shade Audrey
BONUS: For darker skinned women (like myself!) where a brown shade might not provide good definition, or for those who enjoy a more sex kitten eye, the Rock ‘N’ Khol Liner in Bedroom Black is purrrfect!
I looove this mascara so much! It gives you the length, volume, and fullness of falsies, without worrying about adhesives, damage to your natural lashes, or flaking & clumps. This formula is perfect for getting Meghan’s flirty flutter! Don’t believe me? Here’s some photo proof!
2. The Cheeks
It’s only fitting that a blush called Love Glow can help you get that #royalwedding effect! This blush gives a light from within glow with a subtle flush of pink, much like the beautiful shade on Meghan!
3. The Lips
This was my favorite part of Meghan Markle’s fresh faced wedding day makeup look! The stunning, soft shade of pink was perfect for spring, and was such a great consistency: Not too matte or dry, but not overly glossy either. Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in the aptly named shade “The Duchess” will surely make your prince come today and not someday!
Bonus: If pink is not your shade, you can still get the fresh faced look with Charlotte Tilbury’s iconic shade “Pillow Talk“, a gorgeous nude tone that works well for women of every skin tone!
If you’ll be walking down the aisle this spring, I would love for you to share your photos with me and my readers, and how you put your twist on Meghan Markle’s fresh faced wedding day makeup.
See you next time!
