Toothbrushes. We all need ’em, we all gotta use ’em. Seeing as how I love putting my money to good use (clothes and shoes, duh! ?), I’d never really considered spending money on oral care needs outside of dental office co-pays and the random $4 toothbrush I’d throw in my cart every 6 months or so. I can admit I make mistakes, and after trying out the cariPRO electric toothbrush from Smile Brilliant, I realized I’d made a big one. An electric toothbrush is a MUST and the cariPRO is everything.you.need! ??????

When Smile Brilliant reached out to me to give the cariPRO a whirl (pun intended), I jumped at the chance, as I knew I’d be getting a quality product. After all, I’d worked with them before, and found their T3 Sensitive Whitening System to be phenomenal (they really work…y’all need that too!). This is my first time using and owning an electronic toothbrush, something I’m almost ashamed to admit in this digital and tech heavy era. As I’ve gotten older, I find that my enamel is not as strong as it used to be, and my teeth have become porous and less resistant to staining. While my nightly turmeric tea may have something to do with yellow staining, I am more determined than ever to invest into quality care for my teeth. After all, why spend $500+ a year in beauty and skincare products without putting that same money into my teeth and smile? With that said, the cariPRO is a game changer!

Initial Impressions

I’m an instant gratification kinda gal, so when I got my package in the mail, I immediately ripped it open and got to brushin’! I should note here that the cariPRO comes nicely packaged with each piece wrapped in its own opaque plastic bag (props to Smile Brilliant for the hygienic factor of the packaging! ??) There is an instruction manual included as well, but y’all know I didn’t even read it until after I’d already brushed (oops!).

The cariPRO itself is sleek and modern looking! The casing is gray and silver, and the brush heads have DuPont angled bristles that are blue, green, and white. I say all this to say that this toothbrush will look good sitting on your vanity, and won’t distract from or interfere with any of your decor choices (cuz that’s important! ?)

Easy To Use

Ok, so the cariPRO is not your average electric toothbrush you can get from the drug store. This one comes with 5 basic modes designed to give you the full dentist office cleaning experience at home. It’s basically the Rolls Royce of toothbrushes.

Operating Modes

The cariPRO’s included instruction manual has a diagram that divides your mouth into 4 quadrants, and the cariPRO is designed to help you brush each section of your teeth before pausing and alerting you to move to the next section of your mouth! 

Clean: This is the standard mode, and likely the one you’ll use the most. I use the clean mode to start my morning cleaning, and for brushing before bed. The clean mode is fast and gentle.

Whiten: I use this mode in the morning, after using the clean mode. I’ve shared before that my coffee and tea habit contribute to staining, so I have to stay on top of whitening. The white mode is super fast, and helps to break up stains. This setting can be a bit aggressive, but I have extremely sensitive teeth, and it does not cause any problems for me, and it does not hurt my gums.

Massage:  I recommend using this mode as a little 30 second boost in your morning or nightly oral care routine to help stimulate and sooth your gum tissue! I do this nightly before bed.

Gum Care: Similar to the massage setting, the gum care setting allows you to gently and completely clean your gums without worrying about causing bleeding or soreness.

Sensitive: The sensitive mode allows you to get a super effective, but gentle clean. This setting would be great for people who have tried electric toothbrushes in the past but felt that they were to harsh on the gums or enamel. I have sensitive teeth, and the standard “clean mode” works just fine for me, but I love that Smile Brilliant has included this option!

A Few Things To Consider

With prices starting at $119, the cariPRO is an investment. But if I can keep it real for a moment, I’ve spent that much money on so many random or ridiculous things (clothes, bags, gadgets and gizmos ‘a plenty) that I didn’t truly need. Now that I’m in my mid 30’s, I’m beginning to understand that health really is wealth, and that it’s important to make investments into your health and wellbeing. And as a social worker, I’ve seen a whole lot of people who clearly neglected their teeth and gums (ya’ know what I mean?!)  Here’s a little bit more about why the cariPRO is sooo worth it!
