High Fashion Spotlight: Self-Portrait

Hey Socialites! I figured it was time for a new post from me, although it’s clear from the amount of new email subscribers I’ve gotten, that you guys are enjoying all the contributed posts lately! ??

I’ve been shopping online lately for some key spring and summer pieces, and I’m really loving the gorgeous dresses and blouses I’ve been seeing! One of my favorite brands for chic summer dresses that cover any occasion from weddings to date night strolls on the promenade is Self-Portrait!

The brainchild of Three Floor creative director and Central Saint Martins alum Han Chong, Self-Portrait launched in September 2013. Toeing an enviable line between edgy and elegant, the label’s innovative wares such as guipure and daisy mesh lace have won fans in Reece Witherspoon, Kendall Jenner and Miranda Kerr. From cutwork jumpsuits and sheer-paneled cocktail dresses to sculptural slit skirts and knit-blocked tops, Self-Portrait makes the case for lace a decidedly compelling one.

Here are a few of my fave spring Self-Portrait looks – now available for purchase!

Black Lace Dress

I love this asymmetrical lace dress because it’s super sophisticated, but is also sexy due to the illusion it gives of skin peeking through. This dress is perfect for cocktails, upscale dinner dates, and evening wedding receptions!

Blue Lace Dress

Dainty and feminine, this gorgeous blue lace dress is perfect for a midday wedding, or an upscale baby shower!

Blue Satin Top

I love the design and detailing on this stunning blue ruffled blouse! This top truly looks designer, and it will definitely be a conversation starter!

Green Floral Dress

This super cute ruffle floral print maxi dress just screams springtime! You can pair this maxi with chic sandals, and be ready for whatever the day throws your way! Pack a jean jacket for chilly evenings: it would look great with this dress!

White Dress

I like this dress because of its simple sheath silhouette, but it’s full of cute details!!! The detailing over the décolletage, and the lace flounce over the arms really make this dress super cute, flirty, and effortless!

White lace blouse

This pristine white lace blouse stood out to me because it is is super chic but also has a 60’s bohemian vibe! You can pair this blouse with a skirt as shown below, but I think it would look just as good with white jeans, or light denim!

White and Black Dress

Ok, so am I the only one who had a vision of themselves wearing this dress, stepping off a yacht, with the wind tossing your hair just so? Yeah, I’m not the only one! This white and black dress is super sophisticated and just screams polish! The black piping detail is fabulous, and the cut out sleeves add just the right amount of sexiness!

So what’s my favorite piece out of all of these? Cuz being totally honest, I’m plus sized and busty, so I can’t wear many of the pieces I selected for the range of my readers who can! (That blue lace dress is GORG but there’s no way the girls would stay put in that top!!!) I’d have to hands down say the Blue Asymmetrical Top for the beauty and versatility! You can pair the stunning blue with cream or white wide legged pants for a dinner date; or toughen it up with a edgy black motorcycle jacket and wear it to a bar! You can pair it with a pencil skirt for a chic look, or even with a pair of boyfriend jeans for that I’m so sexy but I didn’t try hard at all vibe!
