Holidays Made Easy with Publix

Turkey roasting. Made from scratch pecan pie bubbling golden brown in the oven. Children laughing. These are the sounds and smells that make the holiday season so inviting! I have a huge family, and being able to see everyone and fellowship with food and laughter is wonderful. Ever since my husband and I built our home, our house has become a central hub for all of the holiday gatherings, and this means that 4-5 families will be under our roof.  I have to make sure that we not only have enough food, but that all household essentials such as toilet paper, and clean linens are plentiful!  As I’ve shared before, I’ve always managed to make life easier and less stress free by getting everything I need at Publix, and the holidays are no exception! Read on to find out how I survive the hustle and bustle of the holiday season with Publix, and to score major savings!

A Home Stocked For Guests

I often find that most holiday survival guides only mention cleaning your home in preparation for guests. But I like to go a step beyond and ensure that my family, particularly those who are staying overnight, will have all the comforts of home while staying with us. Publix always has terrific deals on top brands, like Charmin Toilet Tissue,  Crest Pro-Health Toothpaste (for the guest bathrooms), and extra toiletries such as Pantene Pro-V Shampoo for the showers!

Since a good night’s sleep is everything to me, I always want my guests to feel as comfortable as possible, and get plenty of rest. Publix allows me to save on great scented laundry detergent like Gain, which keeps the guest room bed linens smelling delightfully clean!

Clean Up Made Easy

One of the things I love the most about my family is that after enjoying a scrumptious holiday feast, everyone has no qualms about rolling up their sleeves, and helping to clean everything up!  Publix has such great prices on everyday items you need to maintain a clean home! While the older kids wash up the dishes, I usually assign the younger kids the task of wiping the tables and counter tops using Bounty Paper Towels!

After the dishes and leftovers have been put away, and the last slice of pie has been eaten, I typically spray an air freshener, like Febreze Air Refresher to clear away any lingering food odors. After that, we all relax and enjoy a funny holiday movie before heading to bed (on those Gain scented sheets!) I love that Publix has everything I need to make the holidays so easy!

Actually, I also spray an air freshener every time after dishes and leftovers have been put away.
I also hate to wash dishes, especially the next day (yes, some people do dishes only the next morning) so we always try to do this right after a meal.
