Hi Socialites! If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I’m sure you’re well aware that I was blessed to be invited to many New York Fashion Week SS2019 shows! My time in NY was a whirlwind of hopping from one show and after party to the next, with hardly any time to eat and sleep! (But there was plenty of wine and champagne!) All of the shows were exciting, and were a thrilling experience for a suburban girl like me. The best part? I was able to walk away with a few new fave designers. Here are my 5 picks for the best collections I was able to view!
1. Andreya Taylor | Meticulously Eccentric
This colorful and out of the box designer who describes herself as “the neon splatter of paint on a dark canvas” showcased at the Oxford Fashion Studio SS19 Collection Group Show III. Taylor’s collection was a breath of fresh air, following collections of black and metallic (nice, but hardly innovative.) Taylor blew us all away and totally transformed the energy in the room (check out my video at the end!) I wish I could have captured more of the applause from the crowd, but I had to shoot the videos with my phone, and had to conserve battery. #firstworldproblems. Check out Taylor’s whimsical and elevated collection:
2. Rufat Ismayilov | AFFFAIR
Ismayilov showcased some of the most gorgeous, intricately designed, and uber sexy gowns at NYFW! There was so much attention to detail in this show: Everything from the mood, the music, and the casting of the models was so on point! Here are a few of my fave looks!

3. Megan Cannings | Megan Cannings Designs
This was my first time seeing any designs by Megan Cannings, but her collection was absolutely breathtaking, and I am thrilled that I am now aware of her masterful ability to craft organza and lace into perfection! Seriously y’all, I’m ready to renew my vows just so I can wear a Cannings gown. I’m sharing the entire collection, cuz who could choose a fave?
4. Talisha White
Where do I begin? This show did not have the elaborate staging, theatrics, and bustling crowds of other NYFW shows. What it did have…is heart! Talisha White, who designs truly stunning evening wear, featured models with Down Syndrome, a model in a wheelchair, and models of all ages, sizes, and ethnicities. Her choice to be inclusive, and the beauty and skill showcased in her collection, earned her a definitive high fashion spotlight on my list!
*My photos of this show are not the best quality, because after a full day of shows, my camera was not having it, and I had to use my cell phone in dim lighting. If press photos become available, I will make updates!

5. Coreta Louise
Rounding out my list is Coreta Louise, who showed at Indonesian Diversity; a truly exciting show I was fortunate to attend! Louise’s richly colored and impeccably tailored designs lent a very upmarket, couture feel to my experience. Take a look at a few of Louise’s standout pieces!
Were these 5 the only New York Fashion Week SS2019 collections I loved? Nope! I’ll share some more over the coming weeks, so be sure to keep an eye out for my High Fashion Spotlight tag!
I truly enjoyed my time at New York Fashion Week, and it was an honor and blessing to be invited to so many shows my first year as a blogger! Thank you to the designers featured above for allowing me to indulge my passion for beauty and innovation.
See you next time!
