Beauty Sleep Mistakes You Could Be Making

Lots of people talk about the benefits of beauty sleep and getting enough of it, but there are actually quite a few beauty sleep mistakes that people can make. Are you making one of the beauty sleep mistakes listed here? Read on to find out…

Sleeping In A Position That Encourages Wrinkles

Each sleeping position has its own pros and cons, but could you be sleeping in a position that encourages wrinkles? Side or tummy sleeping, for example, can sometimes leave wrinkles in funny places by your eyes or even around your mouth. They will be more prominent on the side you tend to sleep on. You can minimize these wrinkles by using a silk pillowcase that doesn’t drag on the skin, but you might just be better off training yourself to sleep in a different position.

Sleeping On The Wrong Bed/Mattress

Perhaps you’re actually sleeping on the wrong bed/mattress. You should read reviews of different beds and mattresses if you’re in the market for a new one and see which could be best for you. Sleeping on the wrong type of bed could mean suffering from back problems and waking up feeling like you’ve had no sleep at all.

Sleeping With Your Makeup On

If you’re going to apply makeup in the day, at least take the time to take it off at night. Cleansing, toning, and moisturising is crucial for everybody, whether you’re wearing makeup or not! If for whatever reason you really don’t want to do the full shebang, at least use a makeup wipe to take it off.

Not Changing Your Pillowcase Often Enough

You can transfer all kinds of dirt from your face on to your pillowcase, and it can transfer it back to your face when you sleep on it again – especially if you have slept with your makeup on. Changing your pillowcases regularly is much better for your skin.

Using Linens That Aren’t Right For You

There are different types of linens out there, and some of them are better for the skin than others. For example, if you live in a warm climate then you’ll need linens that are breathable. You don’t want to use linens that are scratchy!

Not Incorporating Helpful Accessories Into Your Bedroom

Having the right accessories in your bedroom can help you to get a better quality of sleep each night. Himalayan salt lamps, for example, emit a soothing orange glow that is said to promote better sleep. Humidifiers are great if you struggle to breathe during the night and have dry skin. You can also use bed sprays containing aromatherapy to help you drift off.

Failing To Apply Night Time Skin Products

Night time is the best time to apply skincare products, as the skin replenishes as we sleep. Take advantage of this time and apply your favorite products and wake up in the morning looking youthful and glowing. Cleanse, tone, add a serum, apply eye cream, and moisturize with a great night cream before bed.
