Everyone should know by now that regular exercise is a crucial part of being and staying healthy. Yet for many, that means a short workout at home following a YouTube video or investing in some gym equipment for a spare bedroom or converted garage.
Although this is fine, and it’s certainly better than nothing, the reality is that there is nothing that can really compare to going to a gym. If you’re not convinced of the benefits, read on – we’ve got all the reasons you might need.

It’s Good For Your Health
It’s an obvious point that going to a gym like Fitness 19 to work out is good for your health, but surely working out at home offers the same level of health and fitness. This will depend on how motivated you are, but it can often be the case that, no matter how good our intentions are, we put in less effort when it comes to working out at home. There’s no one to push us, and there’s nothing to aim for.
This is why it’s better to go to a gym. There will be people around who will motivate you, and you’ll feel much more able to work out when you’ve made the initial effort to leave the house and go to the gym. So although both at-home and in-the-gym workouts are beneficial, going to the gym can push you further.
It Will Reduce Stress Levels
Life can get pretty stressful, which is why it’s so important to know how to decrease that stress when you can. If you don’t do this, you can become sick, both mentally and physically.
One great way to bust your stress levels is to visit the gym. When you exercise, you’ll release endorphins into the body that boost your mood and make you feel great for hours to come, and those same hormones will actively reduce the amount of cortisol (the stress hormone) you have in your body. Plus, because you’re at the gym with other people, you’ll be able to socialize while you work out, which is another great way to reduce stress.
Access To Equipment
Unless you have an unlimited budget and unlimited space, you’re not going to be able to have all the gym equipment you might want or even need in your home setup. You’ll have to pick and choose, depending on your budget and where you are placing the machines. This can mean that you miss out on some important exercises or that you don’t get a full workout.
This is not something you need to worry about if you go to a gym. The gym will have all the equipment you could possibly need, and it will have people there who can help you learn how to use it, reducing the potential for injury and ensuring you get the most out of your time using the equipment.
Plus, it will be less expensive to join a gym than it would be to buy all the equipment yourself, especially if you’re not going to use it on a regular basis because you lack motivation, as we mentioned above.
