How To Be Yourself As Well As An Awesome Mom

Motherhood is one of the most intense experiences a woman can have. The love you feel for your child is unlike anything you have been through in your short time on this earth. Whatever they want, moms do their best to provide for their children even if it means sacrificing their dreams. However, investing everything in your kids is going to leave a void in your life, one that will get bigger with time. Ladies – you need to be yourself as well as an awesome mom if you’re going to have a fulfilling double life. Here are some of the ways you can find the right balance.

Work It Out

You need a clear mind if you are going to make tough yet efficient decisions. After days of watching Paw Patrol on TV and dealing with temper tantrums, emotions run high. Trying to decide how to make time for yourself is tough because you suffer from stress syndrome, so you need to blast the cobwebs away. To do this, wake up early and hit the gym or go for a jog. Exercising helps you to relieve pent-up aggression and it releases mood-inducing hormones. So, you’ll be refreshed and ready to tackle whatever comes your way.

Go Back Into The Workforce

At some point, being at home all day gets too much. This is especially true if the kids are growing up at a lick and don’t need your attention as much. Children as young as two go to daycare and that leaves moms with time to kill. Thankfully, it’s the perfect moment to take some “me” time. For example, you may decide to use the hours to work part-time shifts in the morning. Or, you can start studying for your online masters of early childhood education course for when they go to school. Whatever your poison, try and use the time wisely to challenge yourself and put yourself back out there.

Lean On Your Family

Of course, finding time for you isn’t possible without help. Sure, daycare is good but it’s expensive and doesn’t last all day. And, it’s not as if kids are flexible either. The good news is that families are almost always happy to fill in when times are tough, and you shouldn’t say no. Not only is it a money-saver and an opportunity to bond, but it provides you with the chance to relax. From napping to running errands or catching up with friends, the time is precious for new moms.

Sadly, there is a lot you want to do and not enough hours in a day and something will slip through the cracks. The key is to accept the inevitability and to plan accordingly. For example, you may not be able to hit the gym or eat healthily one day depending on the circumstances. However, you can pick one and prioritize it over the other. That way, you get to do the things that are the most important to you.

Motherhood will come naturally and you’ll learn on the job. What you may forget is how to be an individual, but hopefully, this advice can help.

See you next time!
